Welcome to After School Fun of West Milford
After School Fun is an arts & crafts learning program for kids from kindergarten to 6th grade. Kids spend time with friends after school while they have fun with activities tailored to bring out their inner artists. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, kids develop a sense of belonging to a group that shares and encourages their love of art.
Class descriptions:
Hands-on Art History-Students will learn about various artists throughout history through hands-on projects. Projects involve use of paint, pastel, charcoal and pencil. Some supplies required by student. Grades 1 to 6. (Mondays 3:30 to 4:45)
Photography-Students will learn the aesthetics of creating interesting digital photographs of people, places and things. Students will have the pleasure of seeing their work in print and end the course with a ‘photo portfolio’. Student must supply their own digital camera. May require additional supplies. Grades 4 to 6. (Tuesdays 3:30 to 4:45)
Advanced Coloring-Students will learn how to use different mediums to bring various pictures to life through color. Students will have fun while learning basic color theory and shading techniques. Students will create their own ‘colored coloring book’. Some supplies required by student. Grades K to 6. (Wednesdays 3:30 to 4:45)
3-D Adventure-Students will ‘build’ various art projects with materials such as sticks, papier-mâché, modeling clay, origami and more. Students will end the class with ‘sculptures’ of their own creation. Some supplies required by student. Grades 2 to 6. (Thursdays 3:30 to 4:45)
Friday Fun-Students will be involved in various projects and activities which include: story-time, skit-acting, arts & crafts, kitchen-less cooking and kids fitness. A detailed schedule will be provided prior to class. Some supplies required by student. Grades K to 6. (Fridays 3:30 to 4:45)
About my classes: Each class is designed to follow a specific lesson-plan to enrich the students experience with the arts. I encourage kids to be kids, messes and mistakes are a welcomed part of the experience. Students are guided by instruction but encouraged to use their own self expression and voice. Class sizes are limited to no more than five students per session so I may provide individual attention to each student.
Children work in a safe and clean at home environment. I encourage children to become part of a special group of friends, the atmosphere is relaxed and consistent. I offer flexible drop off and pick up times at an additional cost. I understand the busy work schedule of parents and I will work with you and your child to make the After School Fun program as enjoyable as possible.
